Cutting Edge Stencils Giveaway!

I'm happy to share with you that Cutting Edge Stencils contacted me to do a product review and giveaway!!! How fun is that! For my product review, I chose the Marrakech Trellis Craft Stencil. I decided to stencil the top of a table.

Here's the table before: 

Once I lined up the stencil I simply taped it in place.

Using the awesome roller Cutting Edge Stencils sent me, I lightly coated the roller with paint.

I found that if I kept rolling on very light coats until I could no longer see the green, I had no bleed through and the stenciling looked perfect. 

After several very light coats

I waited about 20 minutes for the pattern to dry then taped the stencil on to finish the rest of the table. It was very easy to match up the pattern!

This was probably one of the easiest projects I've ever done! The stencil was nice and sturdy. It stayed in place very well. You do have to be careful not to use too much paint, but the finished project was lovely! This is the first time I have ever used a stencil. It was nice to find it was very easy to use! The clean up was a breeze too! I just soaked it in some water for a few minutes and the paint easily wiped away with a soft brush.

Fluffing

I've been doing some fluffing and wanted to show you some of my new finds and how I used them to decorate my fantle (fake mantle).

 

I finally figured out how I wanted to use my printer block tray I got for Christmas. I think it's a great way to display some of my favorite things.
I know the star ruler and picture look randomly placed, but I needed something to cover up a screw that's right above the printer tray.

 I'm not sure why, but I have a growing obsession with caster wheels. I love the juxtaposition of the industrial feel of the casters with the elegance of an apothecary jar!

Brass hose nozzles have made their way to the top of my snatch-off-the-shelf-as-soon-as-I-spot-one list.

Ok, who can resist a tray filled with letters, numbers, skeleton keys, mini oil cans, and brass nozzles?? 

 Perfectly rusty bed spring candle holders!!! LOVE!!

Flower Love

Hi friends! Nate, Anderson and I are having a wonderful time on vacation visiting family in Tennessee! We have no real plans but to enjoy our time here in this beautiful weather, relaxing by the pool and spending nice quality time together!!! We will be visiting the Nashville Flea Market on Friday and I can't wait!

While everybody was swimming today, I took the time to practice with my camera taking pictures of my step-mom's array of beautiful flowers. There are quite a few pictures so I'll say bye for now and let you enjoy them! Thanks for looking!

Pallet Tool Box

I recently found several clear mason jars from a thrift store and decided to use them in my kitchen. I wanted to display them on the counter, but needed something fun to put them in. So, I enlisted my husband Nate to build me a wood tool box from pallet boards.

I don't have measurements for you since you can make yours any size depending on the widths of your pallet boards, but here's Nate's process:

 Attach sides to the end pieces

Nate had to cut two pallet boards to cover the bottom

Drill holes in each side and insert your wooden dowel for the handle. 

You can glue the handle in place or screw in through the top like Nate did.

Using my new favorite paint technique, I whitewashed my tool box.

Then filled it with my mason jars and other goodies!

Yay for fun storage!!!
