Patio Bliss

I came across this photo on Pinterest a few weeks ago and knew I had to have one off my patio!

I just happened to have a stack of old doors sitting in my garage so my husband built me a gorgeous little space off of our patio in less than an hour! Here's how my door haven turned out!

Oh, how I love it!!! Within minutes of Nate finishing it, I was out there decorating! :)

The church where I work is undergoing a kitchenette remodel. I rescued this huge dumbwaiter pulley during the demo phase! It's way too heavy to hang in my house so I thought it would look perfect out here!

I think I need to find some cute vintage gardening tools for this basket.

Rusty horse shoes add a fun touch. My mom told me about turning the horse shoes the other way so the luck doesn't run out, so I'll be changing the way they hang.

I'll share with you soon what I made this cute little star out of. Any guesses?

I absolutely love all the layers of chippy paint on this chair!!!!!

So what do you think of my new outdoor space!?!

  5. How nice this is. It reminds me of a time my parents moved into an old farmhouse. There was tons of doors and at the time I wasn't crafting. IN the dump they went. Boy,this makes me wish I had them now. There is so many great uses for them.. Hugs, Cindy

  12. I have a pile of doors in my garage. Traded a neighbor one of them in exchange for some repair work yesterday, so while we are digging his out, I will have to look for some to do this with. Another neighbor has a pile of them in his basement waiting for me to pick up. Might be able to make a few of these. Thanks for the inspiration.

This givs me an idea..i always try to make a space that provides functionality..so...im going to do a space like this and hav a bar feel to it..full of nooks/old crates and such below..and maybe ill hang the small childrens chairs on the walls for "storage" items..like extra ice buckets..or...a place to put fruits for the drinks :)to Cud also make this an outdoor potting shed as well..add a cupl benches on the outside of the left/right doors..and whalla..more display..hmm...so much cud be done w/this. Ty for the ideas.

  78. I love the way this turned out! I've seen doors made up like this at antique malls, and I'ld love to try it out in my house, but I think the brutal sun where I live would definitely kill the wood within a month! :( So I'll just have to ogle at yours!!! Great job!!! Hope you are having a wonderful day, my friend!

  79. Too cute it looks GREAT! But, the country girl in me must share with you. That some might say that your horseshoes are hung upside down. The myth is that your horseshoe needs to be hung in the other direction to keep your luck in. Hung the way they are the luck falls out. If you believe in that kinda thing;-). I am in love with your blog such cool ideas. Thanks for sharing. ~michelle
