My goal was to have my booth decorated for fall by September 1st. And as well as making it festive, I also wanted to give it a facelift. There were a few things that were not very functional so I enlisted the help of my handy hubby to help build a couple pieces in order to display my items a little better. Over the next few weeks I'll be sharing those projects and how pretty my booth looks for fall!!
Today I'm sharing with you a cabinet I lovingly refer to as the Frankenstein cabinet. It got it's name because we used miscellaneous parts sitting around collecting dust in our garage.
See? Lots of mismatching going on. It looks pretty bad right now, but just wait. I promise it gets better!
The glass door was taken off of an old china cabinet our neighbors found on the side of the road.
For the two sides we used cabinet doors we recused from the kitchenette remodel at the church where we work. Gotta love reusing!!
For the top and bottom we used pieces of an old door also rescued from the church.
See the piece of wood there in front of the blue door? Yeah, that's a piece of a cutting board that we found behind the garage at one of my parents' rental houses.
The legs of the cabinet were taken off an old crib. Is the Frankenstein name starting to make a little more sense now? :)
The shelves on the inside were made using 2x2's and furring strips we already had.
Here it is all painted in one color, shelves stained and a luan back added to it!!! I LOVE it!!!

Here's a close up of the inside. I used a mixture of Elmers glue and water to paste book pages to the luan backing.
So there you go! I'm glad you finally got to meet Frankenstein.
