Winter Mantle

I took all of our Christmas decorations down last weekend. The house looked so bare that I immediately got to work on putting together some decor for a winter mantle.

I filled old oil cans with winter picks!

See that long mirror back behind it all? I found that about a month ago at an estate sale for a great price! I don't currently have a place for it just yet so here it sits for now.

I'm thinking this wire tree will just have to stay up all year. I'm just too in love with it to put it away! Can you just picture it - hearts for Valentine's day, eggs for Easter........ ahhhh so many possibilities!!! :)

I seriously have a snowflake addiction!

Do you decorate for winter or go straight from Christmas to Valentine's day or thinking about spring?

I'm linking to the parties listed HERE and to:

  7. Very pretty! I do decorate for winter. Tan and navy blue, with lots of evergreen. I love snowflakes too, but go for the distressed, primitive, grungy look, even for the snowflakes. My sister cut a bunch of snowflakes for me on her Cricut. She used parchment paper, and then I aged them with coffee. Stuck them all around an evergreen wreath with bunches of statice and tan and navy bows. I also fill a wooden bowl with rag balls and light lots of peppermint and vanilla candles. Peppermint and vanilla together says "winter" to me. It all feels very cozy. :-)

  8. Everything looks very pretty and perfectly wintry.

I usually start gearing towards spring instead of Valentines.

  18. Love your use of vintage in your winter vignetter. Lovely. I have one of those wire ornament trees, but hadn't thought about folding the branches up a bit and using it in that way. Clever! I decorate for winter, leave it up until about the end of February when I'm sick of it and then transition to spring.

  19. Hi, hopped over from Angie's Knick of Time. I love and collect oil cans. Mine are outside, but after seeing this I will have to bring them in sometimes. The wire tree is so cute and has so many possiblities. I decorated for Winter but just took it down and put up Valentines. Things needed dusted, so I thought why not? lol! Now following. I have a link party, Share Your Cup Thursday. Would love if you shared sometime!
