Industrial Nightstand

My little guy turned three in October and I've been thinking it's about time to give him a big boy room! I've got lots of ideas and have started looking for things to incorporate into his room. I know for sure it will have a nice industrial vibe to it!!!

Last weekend I went to an estate sale with my mom and made my first big purchase towards Anderson's big boy room!!!

I bought this awesome white metal stool that will be used for his nightstand!

 And, it's perfectly chippy!

I found these antique arithmetic books at another sale recently.

This cute little gooseneck lamp is also a recent find!

Christmas Projects and Some News

I have my booth all decorated for Christmas!!! It looks so pretty!! Here are some of the things I've been working on the last few weeks to take into my space.

  I love my neutral tree!

I've brought in some new shelves for my space. The tall one centered on the white door was made by my husband out of fence boards!

I found these cute snowmen at a garage sale recently.

I decorated these wood letters with burlap, wood pieces, glitter and sheet music

 Eyelet trim Christmas trees!!

The glass ornaments below were inspired by some I found on Pinterest

I made some burlap, drop cloth and muslin bows

I also made bows from sheet music, book pages and maps

Twine wrapped candy canes like I made for my own tree last year!

Cute peat pot snowmen!

And now for my news! Did you notice the new addition on my side bar on the right? I have now opened an etsy shop!!!! Over the next few weeks I will be working to add more vintage items to the shop! So, if you live too far away to visit my booth in person, my etsy store is a great way for you to own some of the things I have to offer! I want to apologize in advance for the photo quality. I have to take pictures and list from my phone so they are not the best. I hope you will check out Shabby Love Designs and add me to your favorites!

Vintage Soda Crate

Hi friends!! I want to share with you a quick and easy change I made in my living room last weekend. When we first decorated the room several years ago, I was going for a coffeehouse vibe with the brick wallpaper and coffee decor. The wallpaper will eventually be taken down, but I have been slowly replacing my coffee decorations with vintage finds.

My in-laws gave me this old soda crate last year. Until now it's been shoved away in a closet waiting for me to figure out how I wanted to use it.

At first I thought it would be a great way to display tiny ironstone creamers, but so far I only have two. Scratch that idea.

Then I thought I could display tiny little oil cans like in the picture below. But even the tiny ones were too tall. Scratch that idea too.

Finally, it hit me!!!

I now have a place to put all of my vintage flower frogs!!!!!

 Teeny tiny ones

 Square ones

 Rusty ones

They each have their own little space

And now hang proudly on my living room wall!

Giveaway Winner Update

Do you all remember when I had my one year blogiversary giveaway back in August? The winner was Tish who does not have a blog (but should really start one!), and she has been keeping me updated on some of the things she has made with her winnings. I asked her if I could share them here with all of you because they are amazing and she agreed!

So, here are two projects Tish has worked on.

Like I said, amazing!!! Please give Tish some comment love! :)

Chippy Paint Goodness and a Sale

There's something about chippy paint that completely draws me in! Maybe it's knowing the effect time and the elements have on paint that cannot be replicated no matter what method you use to distress. It's gorgeous and I love it! I decided to photograph all that wonderful chippiness around my home and share it with all of you. Enjoy my fellow chippy paint lovers!!

How do you feel about chippy paint?
