Embroidery Hoop Art

I'm loving all the embroidery hoop art I've been seeing all over blogland, Pinterest, and Etsy! I'm loving it so much that I've been making some to sell in my booth. Here's a few that I've created.

I've made a few like this. I used drop cloth for the hoop fabric and made the rosette from white muslin. I have also made one with a rosette made with white burlap.

I've been experimenting with transferring images using Citra Solv and graphics found from The Graphics Fairy onto a cream colored muslin. Love these! Let me know if you'd like me to put together a tutorial on how to transfer.

Fun right!?! There are so many ways you can dress up an embroidery hoop. I find them all the time for super cheap at thrift stores. I can't wait to make more!

  3. Oh Melissa those are so cute!! I've been experimenting with a new transfer method: print the graphic directly on a transparency film then flip it over so the wet ink side is on your fabric & rub it on. Works out great! It gives it that worn look without having to wash it. I don't know how permanent it would be, so I wouldn't put it on anything that had to be laundered but for pillows or the art work your doing it would be fine. I've been doing this on seat cushions.
