Remember a few weeks ago when I shared my new patio space?
And I told you I would share what I made this star out of.
Well, do you remember this ladder that now resides in my living room?
Before scrubbing it up and moving it into the living room, we removed the back "legs" of the ladder because it was falling apart and so the ladder would sit flat against the wall.
Here are the legs. It's upside down, but you get the idea
I couldn't bear to throw away that perfectly useful wood, so I asked Nate to cut anything salvageable into small pieces for me.
I used the pieces and made a cute rustic star! It pays to be a hoarder sometimes! :)
I even love all the old paint splatters! It adds character, don't you think?
I'm linking to the parties listed HERE and to:
Now that is using everything--good job!

ReplyDeleteA agree - totally pays to be a hoarder! I'm right there with ya and making a star out of rustic wood was on my to do list last week, believe it or not, but my mom talked me into the willow tree branch one instead. LOVE your star. I still might have to try one. :)
ReplyDeleteLove this star! It's so fabulously rustic. What a great reuse of what some might just throw away. Love it! I'm a new follower through GFC.

Super cute! I love it all.. but the star would be my favorite :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up to Financial Friday! Im featuring this tomorrow at 7! :)
Perfect reuse for that old wood, Melissa! My Yankee and I have a hard time throwing anything like that away, too. That's why our barns are overflowing with so many bits and pieces of this and that. But it all turns into something special - just like your star - eventually. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to Time Travel Thursday. Hope to see your creativity linked each week.
