Touches of Fall

I have a rule for myself for fall decorating because I don't like to rush the summer away. Fall is my favorite season so I really have to force myself to be patient and wait to break out my decorations. So, my rule is that when I see the leaves on our huge maple tree in our front yard starting to change colors, that's when I can start decorating. :) And look what I happened to see last weekend!

I made the bunting with twine, burlap, mums, and silk leaves.

I covered one of my son's sand buckets with burlap and a grosgrain ribbon, and hot glued silk leaves to the sticks.

I never realized I had so many pumpkins!

Vintage decorations my mom gave me years ago.

  38. I had to look pretty hard for those leaves hidden among all that green but it was there! That rule would work for me, too, if I could ever expect any color here in FL. I'll just use the leaves on your tree instead because I usually use the "October 1" rule and I'm in a hurry this year. I'm going to dig out my fall decor right now! You have inspired me. All of your things look so pretty!

  71. I love your blog first of all!!! I made the bucket with fall leaves today and I have to say it is so pretty. I used what I had to cut down on my cost...so I had used a dark brown printed fabric and a beautiful orange ribbon with leaves on it that I already had. I think it turned out great. Thanks for such a simple yet fabulous fall way to decorate.
