Rusty Junky Tools

There's just something I love about old tools. Maybe it's the evidence that it was well used, the interesting designs, or the fact that they don't make tools like they used to. Whatever it is, the more rusty and junky the tool, the more I love it. Here are a few of my favorites that I have collected over the last few months.

Do you have a hard time resisting junky tools too?

  1. Those are awesome. I have been thinking I want to find some like that for a little whimsical garden decorating.

  2. Came over from Overflowing. I am a self-proclaimed rust goddess and I see you are too. I never, ever pass up rusty tools even if I don't know what they are. If I see one I like, but it is not rusty, I scrape and sand and soak until it is!

  10. Love all old tools and they don't have to be rusty, just unusual. Love your rusty tools. I feel funny being the only lady digging through boxes of old, dirty, rusty tools at sales. I just posted a blog on a big old toolbox tote and plan to use it to display my vintage tools that I have collected. Thanks for sharing your love for rust.

  13. I know just what you mean Melissa. One of the most touching displays I've seen was the set of tools used for carving Mount Rushmore. That they did something so amazing with fairly simple tools just sorta choked me up. You think of the gardens tended, things built and repaired, etc etc and those old tools take on so much depth.
