I got this cute little tray table from my in-laws about a year ago.
I had it in my booth unpainted and it sat for awhile so I brought it back home to paint. I thought it would be the perfect table to try out my MMS Milk Paint in Ironstone for the first time. I followed the directions carefully on how to mix it, but I still think it came out just a bit too watery. The overall finish to the table was more of a wash so I'm excited to try it again for different results. However, I loved how easy it was to get into all those details of the legs with the milk paint!
I wanted the heavily distressed look and that is indeed what I got!
The distressing is a little scratchy, but I kinda like it!
For an added touch I used vintage doilies under the glass of the tray.
Do you have any tips or techniques that you have figured out with the milk paint?

I love how that turned out and I liked your fb page.ReplyDelete
I like it! I haven't used milk paint yet. Did you have to wax it or seal it? Love the rustic look. Dee from My Painted StuffReplyDelete
That is how the paint finish should look - as if it has aged for decades. Beautiful job!ReplyDelete
I like the scratchy too. I won a giveaway and Ironstone was my color choice. Although I have a couple other MMSMP colors I had trouble getting my Ironstone mixed good too. And for the record, I like the scratchy look.ReplyDelete
