To begin, I had my husband cut sticks we gathered from our yard 5 inches in length. You will need 10 sticks to make a 5 point star.
Take two sticks and determine the size of your point and secure them together with hot glue.
Next, use twine to wrap around the point. This hides the glue and helps add to the rustic look we are going for.
Now, glue the points together and wrap with twine.
Your star should look like this once it is all glued and twined together. Place your star on chicken wire. Trace the shape of your star and cut with wire cutters.
Once you have cut out your star shape from chicken wire, work your way around and hot glue it in place to the back of your star. Trim any excess wire.
Now you have a beautiful, rustic, nature-inspired tree topper that will be the perfect addition to your Christmas tree this year!! :)

What a wonderful star ... and I love that your tree is in a bucket! Is it a cut, live or artificial tree? That bucket would certainly give the fresh cuts a good drink. Beautiful tree!
