See, lots of toys!
Here's a before picture of the cabinet.
After hours of scraping paint and sanding.
I painted it with 4 coats total. (2 coats Kilz primer and 2 coats in Antique White). Then my husband removed the glass from the doors. I loved the glass, but I didn't want the risk of it breaking while my son was playing.
Here's the cabinet now!!!!!!!! (Please ignore the missing baseboard. Our house is one big unfinished project).
I just love what it has done with the space! Everything looks so much more organized.
The burlap curtains were so simple. My mom helped me sew a loop at both ends, slipped a dowel rod through and attached them to the cabinet door with brackets.
I love how much storage we have!!
Our son was thrilled too!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great job and I think your son agrees! I know what you mean about glass and kids. I cringe every time we go somewhere and someone has a glass table or something. Yikes! Nice job on the cabinet!

ReplyDeleteThis piece looks great in your room, too.
SUCH a great idea! I love that the toys are hidden away beautifully. Well done!
ReplyDeleteYou were certainly smart to remove the glass. You could replace it with plexiglass for a similar look without the breakability. Thanks for sharing!
