Shelf Redo

I found this shelf at Goodwill recently and knew it would be the perfect display piece in my booth, but the pink paint had to go!

The same day I found the shelf I also hit the enamelware jackpot! I knew I wanted to display the enamelware on this shelf so I chose a color that would make the white enamel pop!

So, I chose this gorgeous bluish gray color I already had around the house. I love it!

So much better than pink, right? :)

I'm trying really hard not to want to keep this coffee pot for myself.

I know it'll be a little gross having an enamel urinal sitting in my booth, but it's not very often I see one of these.

This little pot is very tempting to keep for myself too.

Here's a close up of the beautiful gray!

I love the scalloped part of the shelf.

New Use for an Old Door

Do you remember this pallet cabinet my husband made for me last year?

As you can kind of see, there's a lot of empty space on the wall above the cabinet. I needed something to fill the blank area but also provide a way to display some of my vintage finds.

A few weeks ago my mom gave me an old door that came out of one of their rental houses. I gave it a fresh coat of paint and Nate added three shelves to it using pallet boards. We put it directly behind the pallet cabinet.

We removed the glass insert in the center and I stapled one of my burlap coffee sacks to the back of the door.

Then it was time for the fun part - filling the shelves - with some of my favorite things.
Namely white ironstone, metal and wood!!

I forgot how much stuff I had stored away waiting for a place to be displayed!

Burlap, Ruffles and Lace

I've been making burlap runners and a few pillows for my booth and wanted to share some of the latest I've made with you.

I made runners with ruffled muslin and lace. I love the combo of white and burlap and the lace and muslin add a touch of elegance to the rustic look of burlap.

Instead of hemming the ruffles, I left the edges how they were after I trimmed them with my pinking shears. I thought it looked really sweet.

I won't be sad if this pillow doesn't sell! I'm sure I can easily find a place for it in my house. :)

Best Mother's Day Present EVER!!!!

Several months ago an idea hit me of what I wanted for Mother's Day. So, I immediately went to etsy.com looking for what I had in mind. I added a few shops to my favorites to refer back to when Mother's Day was approaching.

Then, I read this post over at Dear Lillie and I knew exactly who I was contacting about my Mother's Day gift. Jennifer posted about Kerstin and her etsy shop - craftedbykerstin.

I contacted Kerstin and she made me this:

Now do you see why this is the best Mother's Day present EVER?!?! It's absolutely beautiful!!!!

The silhouettes of my son are my favorite parts of the necklace, obviously, but I love every detail right down to the brass chain.

The addition of the brass tag and pearl dangle are the perfect finishing touches! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!

Thank you Kerstin for my lovely necklace!
Go visit Kerstin today and see what other beautiful pieces she has to offer!

End Table Redo

We've had a couple end tables for a few years, but after I did some rearranging in our living room recently, we no longer have room for them. I thought I would give them a little makeover and put them in my booth.

Here's the table before

And after a little Parchment White paint and some distressing!

I thought I would share with you too my growing collection of lavender bottles! ♥

The end table looks so much better now don't you think?!?

Chalk or Cork - What To Do!?!

A couple months ago I came across this empty frame at the thrift store.

When I saw it, my initial thought was to make a fun chalkboard with it. But then I thought maybe a bulletin board would be fun too. Decisions, decisions!

There are quite a few vendors at the antique mall where I have my booth that sell chalkboards so ultimately I decided to go with the bulletin board idea.

I painted the frame in my favorite Antique White and adhered burlap to a piece of cork and slipped it into the frame. So easy!!

 Love it!!

I love this photo. It looks like the two girls are dancing.
