Berry Basket Carrier

I came across this berry basket carrier on etsy recently that I fell in love with!!

Source: etsy.com via Melissa on Pinterest

I love the rustic/primitive look to it and I had some berry baskets I found at an estate sale that needed a home.

As always, I turned to my handy guy and he built me a carrier that turned out very similar. I chose to stain it a little darker than the picture above, but I still think it turned out really nice.

Here are the steps Nate took to build mine.

Using six of my berry baskets as a guide for measurements, he used furring strips to make a simple frame.

Next he added three boards for the bottom base.

He made four little angled legs.

And angled supports for the dowel rod handle.

The completed berry basket carrier.

Stained and filled with baskets and fall touches.

Grain Sack Bench

Do you remember this bench I redid in March? Well I had two others waiting for a makeover and finally had time to finish one. If you follow me on facebook, then you know I recently purchased 22 lbs. of grain sacks for projects such as this.

After going through my pile of grain sacks.....

The bench went from this

To this

If I had room for it in my house I would have kept it for myself! The grain sack was perfectly worn and soft and I love the typography!

Fall and Halloween Wreaths

I put together a couple of wreaths a couple weeks ago that I wanted to share with you!! I don't typically make a lot of wreaths. The only one I've made was this one for Christmas last year, so I was pretty pleased with how they turned out.

Here's the fall wreath:

Simple, but so pretty, I think.

I love the color of the berries

Here's the Halloween wreath:

Again, very simple, but sometimes less is more, right?

I love sparkly things, even spooky skeletons, so he was the perfect addition to this Halloween wreath.

One last picture before I go! Look at this beautiful sight I get to take in anytime I look out my front window!! I'll have to take a better picture of this maple tree and share it soon so you can see the entire tree. It is huge and so beautiful especially in the fall! This is one of the many reasons why I love this season!

Thanks for stopping by!!!!

Halloween Projects and a Birthday Party

The last week of September I spent my time making items and decorating my booth for Halloween, painting and hanging my kitchen cabinet doors, and throwing our son a small birthday party. Busy, busy, but I love it!!!

I took a few pictures of some of the new Halloween items I put in my booth. You'll have to excuse the quality. I was in a hurry and I was dealing with window glare and florescent lighting.

I made witch hats from paperback books! A new spin on the paperback book pumpkins!

Using ledger paper and plastic skeletons, this oval frame looks vintage with a touch of spooky.

I found these great graphics over at The Graphics Fairy and used this mod podge transfer technique to make a fun beadboard banner.

I LOVE the candy corn banner I made also using beadboard!!

Potion bottles on a cute wood shelf

More mod podged graphics added to white metal buckets

I filled quite a few apothecary jars with bones and other creepy crawlies

And my favorite, this little cutie!!! Jami from Freckled Laundry made these doily "ghostiaries" last year. I thought they were adorable(!!!) and had to make some too! I just realized I forgot to give this little guy a mouth!

Before I go I wanted to share a few pictures from Anderson's 3rd birthday party! It was Chuggington/Train themed.

 Hugs for grandpa!

 The adorable Chuggington cake!!

Getting ready to blow out his candle (again). We had to relight so I could get pictures. He was so excited and blew it out so fast the first time. :)

Cute porch decor to greet the guests!
