Numbered Cabinet

Hey friends! I've got a fun little cabinet redo to share with you today!!! I picked it up for a great price at an estate sale a few months ago. Here's the before. Well kind of....I always get a little ahead of myself and then forget to take a decent before shot. Here it is minus the drawers.

And here are the drawers, nothing fancy

This was a quick and simple redo requiring a couple coats of antique white paint and some heavy distressing. I added house numbers for a fun touch to the drawers. My dresser redo is still, to this day, one of my favorite projects, so I wanted to recreate the look with this cabinet!!

Here it is all set up in my booth taking the place of my beloved Frankenstein cabinet that sold recently.

I'm always on the look out at thrift stores and sales for vintage house numbers. I've used them on so many projects! They never get old!!

My First Experience with Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint

I got this cute little tray table from my in-laws about a year ago.

I had it in my booth unpainted and it sat for awhile so I brought it back home to paint. I thought it would be the perfect table to try out my MMS Milk Paint in Ironstone for the first time. I followed the directions carefully on how to mix it, but I still think it came out just a bit too watery. The overall finish to the table was more of a wash so I'm excited to try it again for different results. However, I loved how easy it was to get into all those details of the legs with the milk paint!

I wanted the heavily distressed look and that is indeed what I got!

The distressing is a little scratchy, but I kinda like it!

For an added touch I used vintage doilies under the glass of the tray.

Beachy Pallet Flag

Before I get to my post I would just like to thank everyone for your extremely kind comments about my kitchen redo! It was a long time coming and I was so excited to share. I'm glad that you all were just as thrilled as I was about the transformation!! So I just wanted to mention that I tried to respond to everyone that left me a comment. Alrighty then! Back in November we took a road trip to visit one of my very good friends from high school!! Before we left she gave me a ton of stuff that she had used in her wedding to try and sell in my booth. I came home with burlap runners, grapevine balls filled with shells, a bag of starfish and wreath stands!

I was finally able to break out the summery starfish and shells and have been trying to do different things with them for my booth.

I came across this very cool flag on Pinterest and knew this was definitely how I was going to use up some of the starfish.

As always, I turned to my handy hubby and he whipped together this very simple pallet flag for me!

He glued the boards and kept them together with three small boards on the back.

I painted the boards with Antique White and Behr's Caribbean Mist and glued the starfish on with E-6000.

The boards were heavily distressed!

So perfectly beachy! It's available in my booth at Collette's Vintage!

Grand Kitchen Reveal!

The day has finally arrived my friends! After nearly two years my kitchen redo is complete and ready to be shared!!! I'm just going to get right to it since you've waited long enough!

For those of you who missed my sneak peek post last week here are the before pictures:

The flooring did not get changed and while I'm not crazy about it, it's still in nice enough condition that it's not a priority right now.

We used bead board wallpaper and small trim on the flat faced cabinet doors.

The window trim and baseboards are the Cottage Collection from Home Depot. We are slowly replacing all the trim in our house with this. I love it!

We used chair rail and actual bead board for the backsplash.

We made our own countertop with 2 - 2 x 10 boards and 1 - 2 x 8 board. The cracks were filled with wood filler, stained and sealed with polycrylic. We got the inspiration for the countertop from this post HERE.
