A huge frame, bucket and old doors |
This was used to blow glass. I love the industrial look to it. |
I'll being using this bucket to put our Christmas tree in this year!!! |
Here they are before the makeover:
They've been bugging me for awhile. They look so cluttered and messy.
And here they are now!!!!!!!!!
Sorry about the blurry pics. Something's up with my camera. We snagged a few of those 7up crates on Saturday |
This fabulously chippy box was another find from Saturday |

I'm really loving the look of the books with the spines at the back of the shelves. Looks so much tidier.

oh this looks so beautiful! Great job! Its amazing how a bookcase normally used for storage can look so shabby, warm, and gorgeous! Thanks for posting about my giveaway too!!! :)
ReplyDeleteTurning the books around is a clever move! At first I thought you had made white book covers for all of them. Good job, very smart. Great score on the boxes, too.
ReplyDeleteThese look amazing! So cool of your dad to make these for you. My dad always helps me with my builds! It's fun working on things with him!
ReplyDeleteAmazing, I love it! You are so crafty & talented!!!
ReplyDeleteXO's,
Jessie
Much more cohesive and boy do I understand the labor involved because I dusted my book shelves of the same size today. Mine are not as well put together as yours, my books must be where I can see the titles I am afraid.
ReplyDeleteway to go! I thought you had put a book cover on every single book at first and thought - wow TIME consuming! And upon closer inspection you just put the spines to the back of the wall - genius! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference! Great story about your Dad making the bookshelves. My dad use to make me things all the time (miss him). Your dad must be happy that his work looks so great now!
ReplyDeleteYour shelf redo is amazing. I think shelves and bookcases are so hard to do. Yours turned out gorgeous. I really like all the books with the light colored covers, it certainly calms the look. Fantastic. Thanks for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteFREE junk is definitely awesome! Your shelves look great. Saw you at Chef in Training.
ReplyDeleteI like your redo on the shelves

Great Job ...crazy about what you did with the books!
ReplyDeleteYour bookshelf turned out great, I was just featured on Savvy Southern Style for my bookcase updo & i did the same thing with my books. It's funny what a difference turning your books around can make, I've been enjoying this look for some time....much easier than covering or stripping their spines. Great job. Take Care, Carrie
ReplyDeleteLove the way you rearranged the shelves, Melissa! Turning the books around makes such a difference. And great FREE finds--I <3 free stuff, too. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day,

Wow it looks so much better! I wish my dad would build shelves for me lol. Thanks for sharing this!
ReplyDeleteI hopped on over from Serenity Now. I love your story about your dad. My dad is also a craftsman and your story reminded me of when I was young and I helped him build a shelving unit for my bedroom. Sweet memories. Your shelf redesign looks terrific. I especially love how the white is more soothing to the eye. Great job!
ReplyDeleteLove your Found treasures. Your shelves look amazing.

Looks good. LOVE all the "junk" you gathered. I have been cleaning my grandparents' homestead and have found some goodies, too. I love the idea of a tree in the bucket - too cute!

ReplyDeleteI must be missing something about this bookcase makeover project. If you turn the books the way you have, how is anybody going to know where what book is located or name of a book without pulling each and every book out till something strikes their fancy. I don't understand this new look!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great change. I bet it feels SO much better in your room. What beautiful accents you added. Thanks for sharing this @ Show & Share. I am so happy to have you!
ReplyDeleteLooks great!
