So, are you ready to see!?!
Do you see that fabulous little metal storage cabinet? Do you see now why I want to keep it?!?
Look at what the metal tag says.
I did some research and discovered that The Dentists' Supply Company was established in New York in 1899 selling ceramic teeth, implants, surgical tools and appliances. They are still in operation today. I'm curious to know how old this cabinet is.
Now onto some beauty shots of the rest of the vignette. I was playing around with the focus settings on my camera so bear with me. :)
| I found this fan at a yard sale last weekend! |
| Isn't this little guy so cute?!? |
So what do you think of my cabinet? Have you ever seen one of these before?
I'm linking to the parties listed HERE and to:
Great stuff! Love the fan. Cold Wave--just makes you feel cooler by saying the words!
ReplyDeleteI love every bit of your delicious still life! I thought at first it was an architect's cabinet... I saw one in an antique store just last week that looked very similiar. I had no idea it was for dentists! I love the details on it! I really like the BIG pulley. I have a smaller rusty farm one, but your has so much character!
ReplyDeleteLove the items you found!!! The details are gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteMelissa what a score! I don't blame you for keeping it, I would have done the same thing. Enjoy it, Dee from My Painted Stuff
ReplyDeleteThe cabinet is DEFINITELY a keeper!! I absolutely love those industrial pieces (I have several!) and yours is a really good one-so unusual! Your whole vignette looks great :)

I work in a dental office (I am a dental assistant/back office) and those were quite common back in the day. Now of course, you don't see them that much unless they are in someones collection. Not sure how old it is but I think that it was in the 1900's looking at the materials they used. Would be fun to find out!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs and thanks for sharing that with us at The "Sunday Stop"!
Bj
that is a keeper!
ReplyDeletelovely vignette!
That dental case is really a great find. LOVE the Fan's Name!
ReplyDeleteVery cool! I love the fan and the industrial drawers are an AWESOME Goodwill find!

Wow - what an awesome find! I would have a hard time parting with that, too! Love the pulley and fan, too! p.s. I found you via the Sundae Scoop link party at I Heart Naptime! :) Nice to 'meet' you! :)
ReplyDeleteLove it! Found you through Craft-O-Maniac. Good finds!
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't part with that either. Very cool looking!
ReplyDeleteThose are awesome finds! There's no way, I would let that go. I just discovered your blog. It's awesome. So much inspiration on here! I'm big into yardsaling, but I don't do as much thrifting. Would you say you thrift more or yardsale more? One website I've been using is http://www.yardsalesearch.com. I love it for yardsaling because it creates a map of local yardsales for me--it saves me a lot of time!
ReplyDeleteGreat pieces and I think the frame looks great there. The cabinet is very unique.
ReplyDeleteLove the little cabinet ... If I had a booth/shop ... I don't know if I could part with anything. Love all your other treasures too :)
ReplyDeleteFrancine
Love this. I just bought some old pulleys at a garage sale and was having a big debate with myself what to do with them. I think I'd like to use one on the wall as a hook, but then there is one left. I told my husband it would be neat to just lay it out and he thought it was crazy. Thanks for the photos, as I can now tell him I am definitely not crazy!
ReplyDeleteI love all of your finds! I have a big pulley like the one you have and I really want to incorporate it into a light.
ReplyDeleteWow!!! I love it. I would love for you to visit me at My Dream Canvas. Have a great week. I am following you now.
ReplyDeleteToo COOL!!! So glad you are keeping it...I would too :) Laurel

Girl, that cabinet is fabulous!!! What a great fan, also. The whole vignette is perfection!! Really, it is.
ReplyDeleteOh! I love that cabinet! It's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI have a weakness for furniture with lots of drawers from old offices or shops. I would keep it too!!
Lovely vignette.
Besos from Argentina, Silvina.
love vintage and that old fan so reminds me of the one that was in my grandmothers house. I recently found a box fan with steel blade at a rummage sale and you can bet I picked it right up feels so much better than new plastic fans
ReplyDeleteooh, don't you love when there is some indication right there where a piece came from and what it was used for? I have a metal hospital cabinet and it too said the name right on it. Very cool fan. Love the look of the blades on that one and the color. It seems unique which is always especially cool.
