Remember my stool obsession and the redos I did
here? The obsession continues with two other stools I came across recently at Salvation Army.
First I found this cute stool as is, half painted leg and all.
I could see the potential though.
It now looks like this
Here's the second stool I found
I cut the number 5 out of painters tape to paint over it so the pretty stain would show through.
Here's the after
I will be distressing the little one for sure, but I'm still trying to decide if I should lightly distress the big stool as well. What do you think?
P.S. If you'd like to see sneak peeks throughout the week and other inspiration, be sure to follow me on

Those stools are adorable--and who doesn't need a couple. :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it absolutely amazing what paint can do?
ReplyDeleteThey look gorgeous - and once in awhile it's okay not to stress, no?
Anyway I love them like they are - but would love them either way I'm sure,
Great job ( and vision )

Cute, cute...I think I would vote to leave the bigger one "as is"?? Something about the "cleaner lines"...looks perfect just like it is :)
ReplyDeleteI love them both! Shabby away...Dee from My Painted Stuff
ReplyDeleteThey are both really cute. Which ever way you do distress or not they are beautiful.

You have a cute little numbered family going there, and the great thing with numbers is you can add more family members whenever you like - you won't run out of numbers to pick from.

Adorable. The little one makes me smile...cute legs too. I bought a little stool yesterday at the fleamarket for $2. The bottom is steel and the seat is wood and I have 4 of the tall stools in a dark brown finish.I might just start my own number family:)

I love, love, love this idea! I will definitely be using this on the barstools I am making over. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful transformations! I never thought about cutting numbers out of painters tape. What a clever idea! I usually love distressed furniture but the crisp white is looking really great!
ReplyDeleteThe little one needs distressing for an aged look to fit its style. I would leave the bigger one alone - it looks very clean and modern. Great job in refreshing both of them.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and love the numbers! Vintage and modern! I would love if you would share this over at our blog hop http://www.ablossominglife.com/2013/03/frugal-crafty-blog-hop-15.html
