Lately I've been really digging triangles....well, all geometric shapes in general, but mostly triangles. I even stamped a triangle wall in my studio recently. I've been dying to add triangles to other things and finally found the perfect project. I came across this Target Threshold tray at Goodwill a few months ago. It's made of wood and the grain is so beautiful. I took it to my booth where it sat for quite awhile with no interest. Nobody else seemed to love the gorgeous wood tones like I did.
People seem to love anything painted. So I came up with a plan so that the tray was painted, but some of the wood could still be center of attention, just in a smaller dose.
I cut out triangles from painter's tape, stuck them to the tray, then gave the whole thing a couple coats of General Finishes Milk Paint in Antique White. Once the paint was dry I peeled off the triangle tape!
I love it so much I'm already looking for something else to triangle!!!!
Just look at the wood peeking through!! It has an ombre-ish tone to it!
I hope it finally gets some love in my booth. I don't see how anyone will be able to resist this tray now! Hope you all have a wonderful Fourth of July!!!
