Easiest Project Ever

I finished one of the easiest projects ever the other day for my kitchen redo. I bought this picture at Salvation Army for $4.00.

I removed the picture, painted the frame and stapled chicken wire to the back. Then I added old kitchen utensils I found at estate sales for $.75 or less. I used twine to tie them to the chicken wire. So easy, but so cute! It has that farmhouse-y feel I'm going for in my kitchen.

You want to know a secret? That mini loaf pan makes the perfect cover for the ugly phone jack on the wall. :)

I need your opinions? Should I repaint the frame a different color so it pops off the white wall, or does the white on white look ok?

Also, I just created a Facebook page for Shabby Love! I would love it if you came by and became a fan!!!! The button is on my sidebar. Can't wait to see you there!

  3. Hi! Just found your creative blog from Coffee, Clean, Cupcake. I love your transformation of the photo frame into vintage country decor. I think I'm going to put chicken wire on my grocery list! I like the white frame on white wall -- it's a very clean look.

I'm your newest follower, and look forward to your inspiring posts.

  6. I think the reddish color of that handle would look great on the frame.

  7. I think a redish color like the handles would look good, too..... but I don't know the color scheme of the rest of your kitchen...

  8. You don't know me I found your blog from links on other blogs. But I like the white frame on the white, it makes the chicken wire stand out instead of making the frame the focus.

  14. I'm totally stealing this idea, but instead of utensils I'm going to hang it in my bedroom & hang my jewelry on it :) My necklaces are ALWAYS getting matted together b/c I don't have a jewelry hanger & I really don't have a dresser or table for one. Great idea! Thanks! :0)

  16. Too clever! That would be a great way to hide an ugly thermostat. Except my husband probably won't let me cuz it will keep from registering the correct temperature. Ha...

  23. This is a cute way to decorate and to show off your vintage utensils. I like the white/white combo but also think that a black frame would look good, too.
